4.1. Explosion isolation at the inlet of precipitator

At present, there is still an old misunderstanding that there is no need for explosion isolation at the inlet of the precipitator: if the air flow towards the precipitator is sufficient, the explosion will not propagate in the opposite direction of the air flow. However, if there is dust explosion in the precipitator, the pressure in the precipitator will increase, resulting in the flow of air flow in the reverse precipitator (instead of air flow in the forward direction of the precipitator), and the explosion flame and pressure wave will spread along the reverse air flow to all connected equipment, resulting in "secondary explosion" or "multiple explosions" of connected equipment. Therefore, at least the inlet pipe of the precipitator usually needs to be explosion isolated.

Typical equipment used for explosion isolation of inlet pipe of dust remover is as follows:

1) Mechanical explosion-proof valve: dust explosion-proof valve, dust explosion quick closing valve, etc;

2) Chemical flameproof;

4.2. Explosion isolation at the outlet of precipitator

Explosion isolation at the material outlet is typically provided by system equipment, such as rotary valves. Please note that the rotary valve needs to be inspected regularly, in order to prevent the expansion of the gap between the baffle plates of the rotary valve, resulting in the spread of explosion.

4.3. Explosion isolation of clean air outlet of dust remover

Whether explosion isolation is required for clean air outlet shall take into account:

1) Although some filter components can prevent the flame propagation, many filter components can not prevent the flame, many filter components may burn, making the flame propagation;

2) When the explosion suppression system is used, the flame will be extinguished before it propagates through the filter;

3) Even if there is no flame propagation, explosion isolation is also required to protect weak equipment (such as fans) at the clean air outlet. Only when there is no flame propagation or the clean air outlet is in a safe position, and the clean air outlet equipment (including fans and silencers, etc.) can bear the explosion pressure value (PRED) of the dust remover, the clean air outlet can not be explosion isolated.
